Thinking about joining a board but not sure if it’s for you? Let’s chat about what it really takes!
Join Scotland Women in Technology and Third Sector Lab for this friendly, practical 60-minute online session introducing Women Do Boards, our programme supporting women working in digital, data, design and technology to move into governance, strategy and board-level influence.
We’ll explore what trustees actually do, what charities are looking for from people with digital expertise, the time commitment involved, and what you could gain personally and professionally from joining a board. We’ll also explain how the Women Do Boards programme works, including the training, peer support and opportunities to be matched with charities looking for new trustees.
You'll also hear from a previous Women Do Boards Participant, Dr Gelareh Holbrook (Business Intelligence Developer at North Sea Transition Authority), about her experience of the programme.
You don’t need previous board experience, a senior job title or perfect credentials. If you’re curious about trusteeship and wondering whether your skills could make a difference around the board table, this session is a chance to find out.
There’ll be plenty of time for questions, and no expectation that you apply for the programme afterwards.
